HOLIDAY DETAILS
We have carefully chosen our venues to give participants a choice of location, budget and ambience. Quinta Mimosa in Portugal is our much loved yoga retreat centre just 20 minutes from Faro Airport, 15 minutes drive from the sea and 5 minutes from shops and restaurants, yet it offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our retreat in Ireland is a nature-lovers delight set near to the fabulous Curracloe beach. La Hacienda in Spain is set in the mountains near Sierra Nevada offering exclusivity and privacy, while Turkey offers a calm, relaxing and alternative holiday near the sea. On all holidays there will be a programme of posture (asana) work in the mornings with more meditative and resorative practice in the afternoons. Of course you will also find time to relax & enjoy your surroundings or for the more adventurous & active, there are plenty of other activities which vary according to which Yoga Centre you choose to stay at.
The Yoga

Whether you are new to yoga & want to learn or are experienced & want to improve your own personal practice, there are week-long holidays, short & bespoke breaks to suit all types of ability for both men and women. Rachel is an experienced & dedicated Iyengar yoga teacher who is adept at tailoring her courses to suit both the experienced yoga practitioner & the complete beginner who has never tried yoga before. Rachel teaches in a calm and focussed way, building confidence and helping individuals to experience the joy and vitality that a regular yoga practice can bring. She is Iyengar qualified and holds the Junior Intermediate level II certificate. She has trained with Senior Iyengar teachers from the UK & abroad and also with the Iyengar family in India.
Iyengar yoga is a Hatha Yoga method which works on musculo-skeletal alignment in all postures to harmonise the movement of the body and instil clarity and peace of mind. It is practised by millions of people throughout the world and is favoured by famous sports personalities such as Ryan Giggs, Justin Langer, Freddie Flintoff and actress Annette Bening.

All the classes are taught by Rachel, and she will be on hand throughout your stay to answer any questions you may have and provide support. Iyengar Yoga concentrates on postural alignment & body awareness to bring about health & well-being. The courses are designed to give participants an indepth experience of yoga asanas, to learn more, improve their practice & to have fun and relax. Guests will often arrive tired & stressed, looking forward to a well-earned break & after their holiday, return home feeling refreshed & renewed. All equipment is provided and all levels of experience and fitness/health catered for.

Plenty of time is scheduled between classes to allow for other activities, quiet time, excursions or extended sunbathing sessions or perhaps a massage treatment from one of the visiting massage therapists.
In Spain and Portugal, horseriding, walking, cycling, bird-watching, surfing and even skiing are available (the Spanish Yoga centre is near to the Sierra Navada mountain range). Other activities could include all kinds of water-sports, sight-seeing, shopping, golf and even motorbike/quad-biking!
