What type of class should I choose?

Class Categories & Options

Rachel teaches a wide range of classes each week to suit different levels of experience and ability. She currently teaches online with two in person classes, one weekly, the other monthly. She also offer private tuition in person from her home studio near Southampton. With over 27 years of teaching experience, and since the onset of the Covid pandemic, Rachel has perfected the technique of teaching via Zoom creating a warm, welcoming and attentive group class experience. Individual attention is provided in real time, just as if you were in an in person class. Recordings are provided so that you can catch up if you miss your session.

Rachel also has an extensive library of On Demand recordings that you can purchase any time to practice at your convenience. Her in-person classes (Boorley Park Community Centre) and workshops there and around the country are warm, friendly and welcoming.

Options for Beginners

Mixed Levels

These are beginner friendly classes in Person at Boorley Park Community Centre (with the option to practice from home online). There are a wide range of levels in the class. Variations are given for both the less and more experienced so that both levels can practice together.

Bespoke Yoga Course

These bespoke private courses are available at any time either at Rachel’s home studio or online. They consist of a 4 x 60 minute course for up to 2 persons. They are a great introduction to yoga and can be tailored to suit anyone at any level of ability, age or experience. For prices and availability, please enquire.

Levels 1/2

This is a class for those with a few months Iyengar Yoga experience or more. We work carefully through the syllabus of poses, preparing for more intermediate level poses, according to the individual ability of the students.

Level 2

These sessions are for students with at least 2 years Iyengar Yoga experience. Inversions are regularly practised with individual guidance and we work towards the more advanced level poses and themes including Pranayama (monthly).

Level 3

Level 3 classes are available online weekly on Tuesday evenings and monthly in person / hybrid on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm.

These classes are for experienced yoga students with at least 4 years regular practice, familiarity with the Iyengar method, confident use of props and regular practice of Sirsasana and Sarvangasana. Intermediate syllabus poses and pranayamas are covered.

Guided Practice

Guided Practice is a subscription based class for experience students only who like to follow a practice without interaction or individual instruction.

Pranayama/Restorative

The weekly Restorative/Pranayama sessions are for regular students. Because of the use of props, at least 6 months experience of Iyengar Yoga is required before joining these classes.

Private/Yoga Therapy
