What’s Involved

A weekend yoga and walking retreat at this popular and unique retreat centre in County Louth, Ireland.

This retreat is aimed at yoga practitioners who have been taking regular classes for at least 4 months or more. We will focus on a balance of yoga & pranamaya with plenty of time for walking and resting (and eating!) in this beautiful part of Ireland. Just 45 minutes from Belfast or Dublin, Carlingford Yoga provide free transfers from Dundalk. The fabled Tain Trail passes the retreat centre, a path that takes you between the medieval town of Carlingford, through mountain passes and lush valleys to Ravensdale oak forest.

Once here, unpack your bags and everything is to hand, no need to have a car or worry about getting anywhere. It’s all here, giving participants a joyous weekend of rest and renewal. Our hosts, Martina and Stuart will be on hand to take care of our every need. The price is €425 inclusive of share ensuite accommodation, all your food and yoga, guided walks and free transfer from Dundalk.

Friday:

Arrive from 4pm.

Welcome soup available 4.30pm.

Intro Yoga Class 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Dinner 8.00pm (two courses)

Saturday

Herbal tea / hot water with lemon etc.

Morning Yoga Class 8am to 10am

Brunch 10.30am (two courses)

Guided walk to Carlingford 1pm - arrive 2.45pm

Ramble around Carlingford 1hr 30mins - bring some money for fab coffee and cake at Wildwood outdoor cafe.

Courtesy taxi back to base

Restorative Yoga class 5pm.

Dinner 7.30pm (two courses)

Sunday

Mantra or Guided Practice (optional) 7.30 to 8am

Breakfast 8.30am

Yoga 10.30am to 12.30am

  • Fully Catered Weekend

    Vegetarian and vegan dishes have been chosen for their super taste, colour and nutritional value. They keep it seasonal, source locally as well as using their own home-grown organic produce and inspire you to experiment with healthier food options at home.

    Combined with yoga, rest and relaxation; you will be radiating good health from inside and out!

    Special dietary requirements will be catered for – with pleasure.

  • The Yoga

    The yoga studio is just gorgeous, warm, inviting, fully equipped and with beautiful views over the fields, mountains to the sea.

    Participants are invited from all levels and styles of practice, but Rachel teaches in the Iyengar tradition so some experience of the use of props is desirable. Props are provided but if you prefer to bring your own mat, please do.

    This weekend is not for new beginners but if you want to book, get to a class and by the time your retreat comes round, you’ll be nicely prepared!

  • Accommodation

    There are 4 large main bedrooms for shared occupancy. These are bright, spacious en-suite rooms with stunning views and real peace and quiet of the countryside.

    With hand-crafted beds featuring pretty privacy curtains, you have the comfort of your own private space to retire to when sharing a room with other yogis. If you are attending with friends, you can request to be together. Alternative accommodation for single travellers can be arranged in the nearby town of Carlingford.

    All the bedrooms have large ensuite bathrooms, one even has a jacuzzi bath!

    Maximum guest capacity is 13 so you will have plenty of space to relax and rest.

  • Guided Walks & Meditation

    Martina and Stuart delight in offering guests space to meditate and time to enjoy the scenery. They also provide guided meditation sessions and guided walks of the local area which is stunning and reviving. Carlingford town is a particularly pretty place to visit and wander for a nice afternoon tea and cake!
